    Arrest made in Robeson County murder investigation

    ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) — A 24-year-old Robeson County man is facing a murder charge after his arrest on Tuesday.

    Shyheim Alford, 24, of Fairmont, is accused of shooting and killing Terry Leach, Jr., 23, Thursday evening, authorities said. It happened at about 5:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Wiregrass Road near Lumberton.

    Alford is charged with first-degree murder, discharging a firearm into occupied property and assault with a deadly weapon with a minor present. He is in the Robeson County Detention Center with no bond.

    Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-671-3170.
