FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) – Classic cars and local vendors lined the streets of downtown Fairmont on Saturday for the third annual Friendly City Car Show.

Antique and classic cars lined Monroe Street, and event-goers were able to vote for their favorites. In conjunction with the car show, the hometown market was also held Saturday where dozens of local artisans set up shop with different items such as sweets, handcrafted tumblers and floral arrangements.

Madison Gaynor, Program Manager, Main Street Fairmont, said, “Bringing people out is something that I feel like a lot of communities sometimes don’t have, so when we hold events like this it’s really nice to see people coming together and supporting small businesses over there. Usually, we have bands, so local artists and then today the car show. So, just seeing new stuff you don’t see old cars like this every day.”

Main Street Fairmont holds Hometown Markets every third Saturday of the month until September. The next market will be held on Aug. 17.
