New record set for number of tornadoes touched down in a year across Ohio
CINCINNATI — A new record has been set in the state of Ohio for the number of tornadoes seen in a single year. According to the National Weather Service, a tornado that touched down in the Cleveland area last Saturday was the 63rd tornado to touch down in Ohio in 2024, surpassing the previous record of 62 set in 1992.
