Suspect Identified In Fatal Loris Shooting Of N.C. Woman
The suspect in a fatal shooting incident has now been identified. The shooting occurred last Wednesday near a Bojangles on Walnut Street in Loris. 33-year-old Lilly Stephens allegedly attempted to assault two people while in a vehicle. A firearm was pulled and around 11 shots were fired. 22-year-old Kenasia Martin of North Carolina was killed and another victim was injured.

Our QDR Hometown Hero of the week is Aaron Carter, Lieutenant for the License and Theft Bureau. Lieutenant Aaron Carter from the North Carolina License and Theft Bureau has dedicated himself to supporting his law enforcement agency as well as his community. Aaron goes out of his way to support the officers that he supervises, who are spread out over five counties. His ability to coach, teach, and mentor is superb and sets an example for others to emulate. Aaron is a CPR instructor and while at lunch during our recent CPR certification class a man started choking on his food and without hesitation, Aaron sprang into action and applied the Heimlich maneuver and CPR to save the gentleman’s life. Aaron also supports the Fayetteville Special Olympics, School of Hope, holds a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu and mentors the youth in the discipline and art of Jiu-Jitsu. He has dedicated his life to public service and being a pillar of his community. He is a dedicated son, husband, and father.
