A Fallen Hero is Coming Home
DE GREY, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Robert A. Bartlett, a Corporal in the US Army, was killed in a tank battle shortly after D-Day June 6, 1944. His body was badly burned, and his dog tags were nowhere to be found. So, his unidentified remains were buried in Normandy cemetery. However, in May his remains were identified via DNA and so Corporal Bartlett was disinterred and transferred home to South Dakota.
Good News: Dolphins shine at S.D. State A meet
The Watertown Area Swim Club Dolphins put in an outstanding performance at last weekend’s 2024 South Dakota Long Course State A meet held in Rapid City. The Dolphins placed second in total combined team score, behind the Sioux Falls Swim Team. Aberdeen Swim Club placed third, Rushmore Swim Team fourth and Brookings Swim Club fifth. There were 15 teams competing.
