MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. ( WHNT ) — A Falkville man was arrested Sunday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs in his car.

On Sunday, July 28, officers from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 31 and I-65.

Officers say during the stop, 51-year-old Christopher Jason Burroughs from Falkville was found to have 95 grams of a crystalline substance in his car.

After it was tested, the substance came back positive for methamphetamine. The sheriff’s drug enforcement unit was then called to the scene.

After field interviews, the Morgan County Drug Enforcement Unit arrested and charged Burroughs for trafficking drugs.

He was transported to the Morgan County Jail with a bond of $10,000.
