A 67-year-old Dartmouth woman died after being struck by a box truck in Fall River Wednesday, authorities say.

A 64-year-old man was hospitalized in the same incident, but is now in stable condition.

The two victims, the driver of the box truck, and three others were on Fall River’s Joseph Drive to pick up a dresser, the Bristol County District Attorney said. An initial investigation shows that the driver of the box truck, a 25 year old woman from Taunton, backed up while they were standing behind the truck, the DA said.

All six people involved in the incident were employees or volunteers from My Brother’s Keeper, a nonprofit that delivers furniture to people in need, according to the DA.

The woman who died was Jean Revil. She was the most “dedicated Dartmouth volunteer,” a statement from My Brother’s Keeper said.

“Jean was a remarkably joyful person with a contagious laugh and the ability to make a heartfelt connection with everyone she encountered. She was completely selfless and had a seemingly unending supply of kindness to give away to others. She is and will continue to be deeply missed,” the nonprofit said in a statement to Boston.com.

My Brother’s Keeper will hold a prayer service for Revil at 5 p.m. on July 19 at St Julie Billiart Church in Dartmouth, the organization said.

The Massachusetts State Police are investigating the incident in collaboration with Fall River Police, according to the DA’s office.
