Gearing up for a new season: Durfee football aims for success in 2024

FALL RIVER — Could this be the year for the Durfee football team?

The hometown Hilltoppers will look to make noise after just four wins in three seasons. Durfee (2-9) will have plenty of homecooking on the schedule at B.M.C Durfee High School. Three of their road games, excluding the playoffs, will be Taunton, Bridgewater-Raynham and on Thanksgiving against New Bedford.

This season's Southeast Conference game for the Hilltoppers include Brockton and the Whalers with home games against Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Somerset Berkley and Falmouth.

2024 Durfee football schedule

Week 1 — Friday, Sept. 6 vs. Fairhaven, 6:30 p.m.

Week 2 — Thursday, Sept. 12 at Taunton High, 6:30 p.m.

Week 3 — Friday, Sept. 20 vs. Dartmouth, 6:30 p.m.

Week 4 — Friday, Sept. 27 vs. Somerset Berkley, 6:30 p.m.

Week 5 — Friday, Oct. 4 vs. Falmouth, 6:30 p.m.

Week 6 — Friday, Oct. 11 at Bridgewater-Raynham, 6 p.m.

Week 7 — BYE

Week 8 — Friday, Oct. 25 vs. Dennis Yarmouth, 6:30 p.m.

Week 9 — Friday, Nov. 1 vs. Brockton, 6:30 p.m.

Week 10 — Playoff/Non-playoff opponent TBD

Week 11 — Playoff/Non-playoff opponent TBD

Week 12 — Thursday, Nov. 28 vs. Greater New Bedford at Durfee High School, 10 a.m.
