WNC Has Large Pot of Silver State Opportunity Grant Funds Remaining for Students
One area of student funding that is being underutilized as the Fall 2024 semester nears at Western Nevada College is the Silver State Opportunity Grant (SSOG). With fall classes starting on Aug. 26, the timing is right for students to take advantage of the grant. The grant was created by the Nevada Legislature in 2015 to provide need-based funding for students attending community and state colleges in the Nevada System of Higher Education.

Nevada football's 2024 season unofficially kicked off Wednesday with the Wolf Pack's first fall camp practice, which was split between Wolf Pack Park and Mackay Stadium. First-year head coach Jeff Choate said he felt like Wednesday's practice wasn't that big a departure from the summer, which allows more coach-to-player contact than several years ago. Tramontina to launch furniture in Las Vegas
Brazilian cookware manufacturer Tramontina is headed to Las Vegas Market this weekend, where it has set up a new showroom and is launching a furniture line. In its new 1,256 square-foot space in Building C, Tramontina will feature products for both retail and hospitality, including cookware, cutlery, steak knives, flatware, porcelain tabletop, cutting boards and chafing dishes.
