Huskers wrap up U.S. Olympic Trials
EUGENE, OR - Nine current Nebraska track and field athletes competed at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials June 21-30 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. On the first day of competition, Dash Simon qualified for the javelin final with a 248-6 in the prelim. From Walla Walla, Wash., Sirmon placed fourth in the final with a distance of 252-0. Kevin Shubert placed 21st in the shot put with a 61-5 1/2 and Ashley McElmurry went 42-7 in the triple jump to place 16th.
