Celebrate Nebraska’s 2024 Book Award winners with author readings and an awards presentation ceremony at the Nebraska Celebration of Book’s (NCOB) literary festival. Held at the UNL City Campus Union on October 12th, winners of the 2024 Nebraska Book Awards will be honored at the celebration which will include an author roundtable during the festival and the awards ceremony directly after at 3:30.
Wildlife Encounters Back at NSF
Wildlife Encounters is at the Nebraska State Fair for the third time in four years. Kip and Stacey Smith worked with Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. 2025 Kansas Shrine Bowl Head Coaches Announced
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. (KansasShrineBowl.com) – The Kansas Shrine Bowl is proud to announce the selection of Dominick Dingle, Wichita Heights High School, and Garrett Michael, Sabetha High School, as the Head Coaches for the 52nd Kansas Shrine Bowl presented by Mammoth. The head coaches are selected from the group of assistant coaches from the previous year’s game. Their selection is determined by a vote from the previous year’s coaching staff, camp directors and support staff. The 52nd Kansas Shrine Bowl presented by Mammoth will be played on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Memorial Stadium in Dodge City, Kansas.

Rotarians hear EA football update
East Atchison head high school football coach Aaron Behrens was the guest speaker at the August 20, 2024, meeting of the Tarkio Rotary Club. Coach Behrens is very optimistic about the upcoming football season with his 22 players. He noted that they had a great camp in July scrimmaging with teams from other parts of Missouri. LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska football unveiled the Husker defenders who were awarded Blackshirts to open the 2024 season. A total of 12 players received the coveted honor, including all 11 starters: defensive ends Ty Robinson, Jimari Butler, and Cam Lenhardt, nose tackle Nash Hutmacher, linebackers John Bullock, Mikai Gbayor, and MJ Sherman, defensive backs Tommi Hill, Isaac Gifford, Malcolm Hartzog Jr., DeShon Singleton and Marques Buford.
