Paris -- Here's a look at work planned in the district for the week starting July 8, 2024. Paris Man Killed In Fannin County Crash
The man killed in a crash south of Bonham Monday afternoon has been identified by State Troopers as 70-year-old Paul Lester of Paris. Then preliminary DPS report indicates that Lester was northbound on State Highway 121 when he made a U-turn and was struck by an oncoming car. Lester died at the scene. His passenger and the driver of the other car were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Triple-digit temperatures persist across North Texas
NORTH TEXAS – Another day of dangerous heat is in the forecast. Before 6 a.m., feels-like temperatures reached 90 degrees. The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for parts of North Texas, including Kaufman, Hunt and Fannin counties, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. today.East of the I-35 corridor, feels-like temperatures could reach 112 degrees. A heat advisory is in effect for most of North Texas not included in the excessive heat warning area, including the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Feels-like temperatures in the heat advisory area could reach as high as 109 degrees. The heat dome in place over much of the southern U.S. will start to break down later this week, bringing a cold front to North Texas Thursday night. Paris man dies after collision on SH 121 in Fannin County
A Paris man died Monday as a result of a vehicle accident south of Bonham. Texas Department of Public Safety officials say Paul Lester, 70, was driving northbound on State Highway 121 when he made a U-turn and was struck by an oncoming car. Lester was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in Lester’s vehicle survived, as did the driver of the other vehicle, however, both were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries. No other details were released.
