The Yankees have announced that left-handed starter Nestor Cortes would land on the 15-day injured list with a left elbow strain. </p><p>This news came hours before he was scheduled to start yesterday against the Orioles. This is a huge blow to the starting rotation. Marcus Stroman got the start for him and took the loss. Luckily, the team has the depth to cover Nestor's spot in the rotation. As part of the corresponding move, they have decided to call up Cody Poteet. </p><p>Though the Yankees did not rule out an October return for him, the ALDS is probably out of the question. If the team does advance to the ALCS, then there's a good chance that Cortes will make his return to the rotation. Before Nestor makes his way back, there are things he has to do first.
