Sean Payton was returning to town, Drew Brees was being inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame, and it was a primetime game. If nothing else, the Saints should be able to pull together to deliver a proud performance, win or lose.That didn’t happen. Instead, New Orleans was embarrassed, losing 33-10. <a href="https://whodatdish.com/alvin-kamara-and-spencer-rattler-are-as-furious-as-all-saints-fans-during-tnf-broncos-01jaemw3wc95">Players were visibly angry</a> throughout the game, <a href="https://whodatdish.com/richard-sherman-eviscerates-dennis-allen-saints-pathetic-tnf-effort-01jaenzky3k3">analysts questioned the team’s effort</a> and commitment, and <a href="https://whodatdish.com/saints-fans-spent-tnf-serenading-dennis-allen-for-what-they-hope-is-the-final-time-broncos-01jaeqefdsrj">fans made it clear they wanted head coach Dennis Allen fired</a>.With how the Saints have looked the last five weeks, and how they’ve looked the last 2.5 years, it’s fair to assume Allen has to be on one of the hottest seats in the NFL. All things considered, the latter may actually be the case. Throughout Allen’s tenure as head coach, <a href="https://whodatdish.com/mickey-loomis-recent-comments-on-dennis-allen-will-only-make-saints-fans-angrier-01ja85zyt49k">Loomis has made it clear that he’ll be on Allen’s side</a> even if the entire world is against him.When Allen’s general manager is <a href="https://x.com/mysportsupdate/status/1747682404175687797?s=46">comparing him to Bill Belichick and Chuck Noll</a>, while he’s compiling an average coaching record, or <a href="https://x.com/kat_terrell/status/1845990448231285128?s=46">helping him elude blame</a> as the team collapses on his watch, it actually makes sense that he isn’t concerned about his job.Still, that’s not the message a coach should be sending out to the world after he and his team just got ran out of their own building. Obviously, Allen isn’t going to come to the podium and campaign for himself to be fired, but he could at least admit that when teams look how the Saints look right now, every position gets evaluated, especially the head coach.</div></body>
