In somewhat fitting fashion, Faribault snatched a draw from the hands of defeat, as Luqman Madey slammed home a rebound coming from a Cullen Cox free kick with just inside of five minutes to go, tying Owatonna 3-3 Tuesday night.

The draw is the seventh of the season for the Falcons.

Jee Favro got back on the scoresheet with a first half free kick tally to tie the game at 1-1 and then would find the back of the net again via a penalty kick in the second half to draw the Falcons even closer after falling behind 3-1 early in the second half. Owatonna making the most of its chances on the offensive end but unable to ultimately hold off a tenacious Faribault attack.

“Overall they played really well and refused to quit,” Faribault coach Brendan Cox said. “Eddie Yetzer, Jorge Cisneros and Owen Voit played outstanding in the midfield, disrupting their attack and keeping the team balanced throughout the game.”

As noted, the Falcons have now drawn seven games this season, a mark that represents just over half of the games Faribault has played this season. The Falcons will head on the road Thursday to take on Northfield and then hit the road again for the regular season finale against Rochester Century on Saturday.

From there the section playoffs will begin, and fortunately for the Falcons, those games will not end in a tie.
