    Becker takes home 1st for girls, as Falcons cross country teams wrap up regular season

    Faribault runner Brooklyn Becker took home first place on the girls side, as the Falcons got solid efforts from both teams at the Cougar Invitational Wednesday. The Faribault girls team finished in third place out of 11 with 107 points behind Waconia in first and Owatonna in second.

    As noted, Becker picked up a first-place finish in the 5000 meter race finishing three seconds ahead of second place to pace the Falcons with a personal best time of 19:24.7. Brynn Beardsley and Claire Wisdo took home 11th and 17th place with times of 20:13.9 and 20:27.0 respectively.

    Cecelia Hoisington, Lauren Bittenbenger and Keira O’connor would finish within a minutes’ span in a stretch of 35th to 46th place with times of 21:35.3, 22:04.4 and 22:21.4

    Shae Battles rounded out the Falcons runners with a 68th place finish with a time of 23:45.9.

    On the boys side the Falcons finished in 10th place out of 11 teams just ahead of Tri-City United. Faribault was led by Thomas Obbink with a time of 17:54.0 for a 34th place finish. Carsen Kramer managed a time of 18:47.4 for a 58th place finish while Liam O’Connor managed to finish just two seconds later with a 18:49.4.

    Brandon Petricka, Erik Flores, Tegan Miller and Kalvin Fu rounded out the Falcon runners finishing in a span of 70th to 83rd place respectively with a time ranging from 20:04.6 to 21:57.8.

    Both teams will be back in action next Tuesday in the Big 9 Conference Meet hosted by Owatonna.
