When Rice County Sheriff's Deputy Daryl Mador arrived at the scene of a two-car crash with one vehicle rolled over into a ditch, he asked his partner where the driver was. He was shocked to see "not a bump or a bruise" on them.

Shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, a firetruck, an ambulance and police cruisers raced to the crash north of Faribault, and first responders were unaware what the scene would look like upon arrival. Neither fire nor paramedics made it to the scene before pulling into a driveway to turn around, as all involved in the crash came out unharmed.

"If it has to happen, that's how we hope they all turn out," said Mador, the primary on the scene. "It looked like an older model [car] too, like 2000; it did its job, that's for sure."
