    USA Today readers picked two local spas as the best. Why they were picked

    Two of the nation's Top 10 spa resorts are located within an hour's drive of Somerset County, according to USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice awards results announced July 10.

    Nemacolin in Farmington, Fayette County, and Omni Bedford Springs , in Bedford County, were voted fifth and seventh, respectively, in the online poll of 10Best Spa Resort nominees that were selected by USA Today 10Best editors and a panel of experts, then voted on by USA Today readers.

    Arizona had four of the Top 10 award winners in the Best Spa Resort category, followed by Pennsylvania, with two.

    Nemacolin Resort

    The resort's Woodlands Spa and Salon has more than 30 treatment rooms and offers a variety of facial and body treatments, massage sessions and a full-service salon with hair, nail and makeup services, according to the resort's website.

    The spa also has a four-lane indoor lap pool, whirlpool and sauna and steam rooms. Access to the spa, pool, wet areas and the fireside lounge are available to overnight guests and members at Nemacolin Resort, but advance reservations are required.     Omni Bedford Springs Resort

    The resort's Springs Eternal Spa offers a variety of body wrap and massage treatments, facials, body scrubs and skin treatments, as well as hair, nail and makeup salon services. Its one-hour Bedford Bath Ritual features a mineral shower, aroma steam room and a soak in the mineral-rich freshwater springs for which the resort is named.

    Omni Bedford Springs also offers meditation and yoga instruction, a heated indoor pool, whirlpool and outdoor pool and fitness center in addition to its overnight accommodations. Reservations for all services are required .
