    Lauren Alaina headlines Dogwood Bash; Live music Thursday-Sunday

    Grand Ole Opry member and Big Loud Records recording artist Lauren Alaina headlines the the 2024 Dogwood Bash and will anchor a full slate of performers during Farmville’s 35th Annual Dogwood Festival.

    Musical entertainment that’s free for the public begins on Thursday with the 2Digh4 Band, a country/rock/pop band founded by brothers Landon and Aubrey Digh from Fuquay-Varina. They will be performing inside the gazebo at the Town Commons from 6:30-9 p.m.

    The free Dogwood Street Dance between Main and Wilson Street will open with Victor Hudson followed by Tuesday’s Gone from 7-10:30 p.m. on Friday.

    Tuesday’s Gone is a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band born out of Raleigh in 2005. They’ve performed all over the country and have even earned the respect of former Skynyrd band members, organizers said.

    More free entertainment is coming Saturday at Stage Green and the Gazebo with The Main Event Band performing at 12:30 p.m., the I-42 Band at 2:30 p.m., Joyner Young and Marie at 5:30 p.m. and the Donald Thompson Band at 7 p.m.

    The Dogwood Bash gates open at 5:30 p.m. on West Horne Avenue adjacent to the town athletic field. Fans can bring their own lawn chairs, coolers and beer and wine with no glass.

    The Jake Sutton Band will be the opening act opening hitting the stage at 6:30 p.m., followed by the headliner’s special guest Austin Williams at 8 p.m. CMT Music Award-winning artist Lauren Alaina will grace the stage and perform at 9:30 p.m.

    Alaina was the runner-up on the 10th season of American Idol, she placed fourth on the 28th season of Dancing with the Stars, and is known for hits such as “Road Less Traveled” and the duet “What Ifs” with country artist Kane Brown.

    Advanced tickets for the 2024 Dogwood Bash concert can be purchased online at farmvilledogwoodfest.com for $25, tickets will be $30 at the gates, and it opens for tailgaters at 4 p.m. for $50 a spot.

    On Sunday there will be a free Gazebo Concert from 1-5 p.m. with the Chocolate Chip & Company Band bringing a little funk and groove on the Town Commons to bring the festival to a close.
