Huskers to host St. Louis athlete at the end of the month
The Nebraska Cornhuskers will host a class of 2026 athlete on campus next month. Keenan Harris is scheduled to visit the Lincoln campus the weekend of July 26-28. Harris is a four-star prospect for Saint Louis University High in St. Louis, MO. Last season, he appeared in ten games, recording 95 total tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sack. He holds two dozen offers, including from Arkansas, Auburn, and Illinois. For 2026, the athlete is ranked the No. 4 player in the state of Missouri and the No. 104 overall prospect. Nebraska currently holds no commitments to its class of 2026 but has made a flurry of offers in recent weeks. Investigators uncover 17 guns in drug raids in Kearney and Funk
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Two drug task forces carried out raids in two central Nebraska towns Thursday morning in a regional narcotics investigation. The Nebraska State Patrol said a SWAT team and the TRIDENT drug task force raided a house near 8th Avenue and Highway 30 in Kearney. They recovered 12 firearms, approximately 11 pounds of marijuana, 1 gram of cocaine, 4 pounds of THC wax concentrate, and 4 dozen psilocybin mushroom candy bars.
One person dead after train, van crash near Kearney
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - A man is dead after a van-train crash near Kearney on Thursday. The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. According to a preliminary investigation, a van was traveling westbound on US Highway 30 east of Cherry Avenue just outside the Kearney city limits. The sheriff’s office said during that time, a Union Pacific train was backing up on a track that crosses the highway and collided with the van.
