McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub

McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub is located in the town of Divide, Colorado and features wood fired food with an Irish flare. They are also located just down the road from Mueller State Park. Which is a good thing because on my first solo camping trip at Mueller I ran into a snow storm and needed a place to grab some food and warm for a bit. The pub was nice and warm and the staff was super friendly and personable. I really had a good time spending time at McGinty’s.

The Food

Now to the important part…The Food! McGinty’s has a menu that features pizza’s, some Irish inspired entrees, burgers and sandwiches. They also do a Fish Fry on Friday’s and Saturdays. I stopped in for lunch in need of some comfort food and was not disappointed! I ordered the Wisconsin Irishman which came with a side salad.

Bigger than a Side Salad

I know this picture is very blurry but I had to talk about the side salad for a couple of reasons. First, the salad is huge! A large pile of greens topped with onions, peperoni, and tomatoes. I could only eat about half of the salad because it was so big. The greens were also really fresh and it was a very good salad.

The second thing I wanted to mention was the maple mustard dressing that came on the side. Holy cow this was a good salad dressing. The maple gave a sweet taste while the mustard had a nice little spice to it and added the tang to balance the sweet. Really good!

Wisconsin Irishman

The Wisconsin Irishman is a creamy mac and cheese with bacon and roasted green chilis. You can also add crispy chicken for a bit of an upcharge. I added the chicken. This dish was really good. The bacon flavor comes through with every bit and the cheese is rich and smooth. The green chilis give a bit of kick to each bite and the chicken took on a blend of all of the flavors and was really good. I really enjoyed the Wisconsin Irishman and it was perfect after spending a night out camping in the snow!

I really had a great time at McGinty’s and the staff was awesome to talk to. The food was great and the atmosphere was really fun. If you find yourself in Divide, give McGinty’s Wood Oven Pub a shot.
