Outdoor Retailer Summer 23: Water

The Outdoor Retailer show made it back to Salt Lake City this June and there were a lot of brands there showing off the latest and greatest products. This year Water played a big role with a variety of options to improve your time in the outdoors. Here is a look at some of my favorites at the Outdoor Retailer Summer 23: Water.

Isle – Paddleboards

There were a ton of water sports showcasing at the Outdoor Retailer show this year. It seemed that at every turn there was some sort of kayak or paddleboard. One really caught my eye though and that was the inflatable paddleboards from Isle. Isle was sharing a space with a Oru Kayaks who I had already featured from seeing them at a previous show. That isn’t what really stopped my about Isle though. What really caught my eye was how sturdy and big the Isle paddle boards were.

Isle has five different models of paddle board with weight limits starting over 250 pounds. As a hefty hiker I always look for the gear that is more inclusive and allows more people to participate. The Explorer Pro, Explorer, Pioneer, Switch, and Megladon will all support bodies over 250 pounds.

These paddle boards are inflatable and packable and I was really impressed with their custom strapping system. The straps allowed for each board to be customizable by attaching different accessories like small chairs, coolers, pillows and pads. Isle made it easy for anyone to enjoy the water and be comfortable doing it.

Flextail

If you are going to have inflatable water toys, it is important to have a light and convenient way to blow up the toys! Flextail has you covered with small and lightweight portable and wireless air pumps. The Max Boat Pump weighs in at only 455 grams but can run 25 mins providing 12 kilo pascal of pressure to inflate your boats. They also have smaller portable pumps for air bed or sleeping pads.

Another really cool product that is coming soon from Flextail is the Evo Icer. The Evo is a wireless ice machine that you can take out on your next adventure. Evo produces 360 ice cubes on a single charge that can last 3 hours.

MTN OPS

When it comes to water we also have to talk about hydration. Not all water is the same and nethier is all supplements that you add to the water. MTN OPS has a full line of water enhancers and nutritional products to keep you going on the trail or any adventure.

They were showcasing their Ignite product, which they say improves focus, increase mental clarity, and get more out of your day with smooth, long-lasting energy. And MTN Ops also featured their new product, HYDRATE. HYDRATE has over 1000mg of electrolytes including Potassium, Sodium, Magnesium, Chloride, and Calcium. As well as B-vitamins to help replenish and refuel on those hot outdoor adventures.

Pelican Hydration

With all of the water and hydration around, you will need a delivery system. That is where Pelican Hydration comes in. Pelican Hydration is the new wing of the iconic Pelican company that makes highly engineered cases that are popular for protecting some of the most valuable equipment around.

Pelican Hydration takes the same approach to their drinkware. The cups and bottles are designed meticulously well. Down to different sized curves on the handle to better follow the contours of a hand. The drinkware was all sleek looking and in the near future will have customizable options for printed messaging on the outer shell. This isn’t drinkware that is thrown together, it is designed and it shows.

As of this writing, Pelican Hydration only has released a portion of the planned line for sale direct on their website. They told me that they plan on releasing more items and the option for custom printing soon.
