Woodbridge man charged with DUI, eluding following chase in Fauquier
A Woodbridge man is in custody following a reported police pursuit that turned into a foot chase in Fauquier County. In the late evening hours of Sunday, the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office was requested to assist with a vehicle pursuit out of Clarke County, according to a FCSO release. The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed in the Delaplane area of Fauquier. The driver then fled on foot.
Fauquier County Fire Rescue graduates 15 recruits
The Fauquier County Fire Rescue System graduated 15 new recruits Friday in a ceremony at the Bridge Community Church in Warrenton. The graduation marked the end of a 27-week training program that included both classroom and field components. The recruits received certifications in Emergency Medical Technician-Basic, Firefighter II, Mayday (to rescue downed firefighters) and Hazardous Materials handling, among others, according to a news release from the county.

Under a drought warning, Fauquier residents asked to conserve water
The majority of Virginia’s localities are under a drought advisory watch or warning. A June 24 Drought Advisory Declaration from Virginia DEQ and Virginia Drought Monitoring Task Force placed 12 counties under a drought advisory warning, including Fauquier, and 95 counties and cities, including Culpeper under a drought watch.
