Northeast Iowa Man Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash
A northeast Iowa man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday (07.01) afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol says the fatal wreck occurred just before 4 pm in near Waucoma in Fayette County. A Chevy S10 truck, driven by 41-year-old Joshua Quail of Waucoma, was southbound on X Avenue when it approached an uncontrolled gravel intersection and collided with a Ford Edge, driven by 58-year-old Diana Mohlis of Hawkeye, that was westbound on 240 Street.

WAUCOMA, Iowa — Authorities have identified an Iowa man who was killed Monday in a northeast Fayette County crash. The Iowa State Patrol responded just before 4 p.m. Monday to the intersection of 240 St. and X Ave in rural Waucoma for a report of a crash, KCRG reports.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - At approximately 3:56 p.m., the Iowa State Patrol responded to the intersection of 240 St. and X Ave in rural Waucoma for a report of a crash. Officials say a 2000 Chevy S10 truck was driving southbound on X Ave when it approached an uncontrolled gravel intersection and collided with a 2007 Ford Edge that was traveling westbound on 240 St.

It’s time to celebrate Clermont’s first 175 years
Fayette County’s historic Brick City will celebrate its 175th anniversary Friday-Sunday. The commemorative event begins at 1:30 p.m. Friday with a showing of the movie, “The Straight Story” at the Clermont Public Library. The movie includes film footage shot in West Union and Clermont. Production of the film took place in Clermont from Oct. 6-19, 1998.
Floyd, Bremer, Fayette Counties to Share in $25 Million for Bridge Updates
A coalition of Floyd, Fayette, and Bremer counties, plus the City of Dubuque, will each share in $50 million in federal transportation funding. The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) RAISE grants will enhance safety in urban neighborhoods and replace some 29 bridges across Northeast Iowa. The program was funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) supported by U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley in 2021.
