It’s time to celebrate Clermont’s first 175 years
Fayette County’s historic Brick City will celebrate its 175th anniversary Friday-Sunday. The commemorative event begins at 1:30 p.m. Friday with a showing of the movie, “The Straight Story” at the Clermont Public Library. The movie includes film footage shot in West Union and Clermont. Production of the film took place in Clermont from Oct. 6-19, 1998.

FAYETTE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - At approximately 3:56 p.m., the Iowa State Patrol responded to the intersection of 240 St. and X Ave in rural Waucoma for a report of a crash. Officials say a 2000 Chevy S10 truck was driving southbound on X Ave when it approached an uncontrolled gravel intersection and collided with a 2007 Ford Edge that was traveling westbound on 240 St.

Waucoma man dies in crash
A Waucoma man has died following a fatal car crash that occurred in Fayette County Monday evening. According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, Joshua Quail, 41, of Waucoma was heading southbound on X Avenue around 4 p.m. Monday, July 1, when his 2000 Chevy S10 truck approached an uncontrolled gravel intersection, located approximately two-and-one-half miles southwest of Alpha, and collided with a 2007 Ford Edge driven by Diana Mohlis heading westbound on 240th Street.
Floyd, Bremer, Fayette Counties to Share in $25 Million for Bridge Updates
A coalition of Floyd, Fayette, and Bremer counties, plus the City of Dubuque, will each share in $50 million in federal transportation funding. The Department of Transportation’s (DOT) RAISE grants will enhance safety in urban neighborhoods and replace some 29 bridges across Northeast Iowa. The program was funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) supported by U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley in 2021.
