During the meeting, the committee discussed potential options for leasing the building from the City of Vandalia if the city would purchase the soon-to-be-former Evans Public Library building. The city presented the committee with potential lease prices for 5, 10, 15 and 20 years. The committee was receptive to the idea of the lease and at the costs laid out, but many said they would need to iron out all the details of the lease ahead of time. It was also discussed there would be some cost for new furniture and fixings to make the building into a Telecommunications Center and also some construction costs. It is hoped those costs could be covered by a grant the committee will be applying for later this year and would potentially be awarded in 2025.
