St. Elmo Man Facing Multiple Felony Charges In Fayette County
A St. Elmo man is facing multiple Felony Charges in Fayette County. 39 year old David L. Huddlestun II is charged with Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer, which is a Class 2 Felony. Information on the charge says Huddlestun is alleged to have made physical contact with a St. Elmo Police Officer in that he is alleged to have struck him in the chest. Huddlestun is also charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, which is a Class 3 Felony and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, which is a Class A Misdemeanor.
Hospital Auxiliary Presents Scholarships
The Sarah Bush Lincoln- Fayette County Hospital Auxiliary presented three, $1500 scholarships to three young women who plan to enter the medical field. Each recipient shared their plans and goals with the group of parents, friends and auxiliary members. The three recipients receiving scholarships were Ellie Whitten from Vandalia, Gracie Braning from Ramsey and Lauren Kramer from Farina.
Drive Thru Food Giveaway Saturday morning in St. Elmo
There will be a Drive Thru Food Giveaway tomorrow morning in St. Elmo. The food giveaway will be at 10 am at Conagra Brands at 1000 Brewbaker Drive in St. Elmo. It is open to all residents of Fayette County, no registration required, no financial or income requirements and one box per family.
Vandalia City Council Meeting Notes
At the Vandalia City Council meeting held on Monday June 3, May Rick Gottman addressed the possibility of the City of Vandalia and Fayette County joining together to utilize staff better and also to provide better services to the residents of the city and the county. The Mayor also stated that the Evans Public Library building that will be vacated in July could be a place to set up the new Telecommunications Center, combined with the location being next to the Vandalia Police Department. This would help with the expansion and expanding the services the city and county working together could offer.
