Masontown police file charges in 2011 cold-case murder
A “pristine” cigarette butt left at the scene of an unsolved murder in Fayette County has led to police filing a homicide charge against a Merrittstown man. Masontown police charged Frank Timothy Campbell Jr., 37, Wednesday for the murder of 35-year-old Leon Mickens Jr., of Masontown, on Aug. 15, 2011.

Uniontown women charged in alleged assault
Arrest warrants have been issued for two Fayette County women after an argument in the street allegedly turned violent. Latricia Lewis, 28, of Uniontown and Marquetta Harris, 33, of Allison both face felony charges of aggravated assault as well as other misdemeanor counts following a fight on Collins Avenue in Uniontown on June 9.
Bobtown Man's Body Recovered from Monongahela River, Drowning Suspected, Autopsy Pending
Tragedy struck the Monongahela River on Thursday when the body of a 50-year-old man was recovered near Point Marion, Fayette County. The Fayette County coroner has confirmed the identity of the deceased as Larry Greene of Bobtown. According to TribLIVE, the coroner's office was called to the scene at around 7:30 p.m., where Greene was found and subsequently pronounced dead approximately an hour later.
