    Ansted man arrested on felony drug charge in Fayette County

    ANSTED, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Ansted man has been arrested on a felony drug charge in Fayette County.

    Jonathon M. Williams, 27, is facing felony charges after a midday incident on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

    According to Fayette County Sheriff Mike Fridley, deputies were attempting to execute a felony warrant in the area of White Row Road.

    They observed Williams and another male outside a residence.

    When deputies approached, the two men threw their backpacks under an ATV and attempted to walk away.

    Deputies apprehended Williams, and a search of his backpack revealed suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.

    Williams is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Narcotic.

    He was taken to Southern Regional Jail after failing to post bond.
