On Tuesday night, the Fayette County Board of Education voted to hire Fridley as Fayette County Schools Security and Safety Officer for the upcoming school year.

Reflecting on his tenure, Sheriff Fridley expressed his gratitude to the citizens of Fayette County for their support of the Sheriff’s Office.

“Someone asked me with all my years of experience, what is one thing you would say about it or take with you? “I hope I have made a difference in someone’s life…“

As always, remember the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is here to serve the citizens of Fayette County and I would place OUR officers amongst the BEST in the State of West Virginia!

In closing, it has been an amazing career and I want to thank God, my family, and all of you who have supported me along this journey, and all the men and women of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. Good luck to the next Sheriff as the transition becomes effective on August 1, 2024.

In closing, as your Sheriff and until the next opportunity God places in my path, thank you!” Fridley stated.

The Fayette County Commission is set to meet Thursday morning at 9 AM to appoint a temporary sheriff to serve out the remainder of Fridley’s term.
