Fayette County Commission accepting applications for interim sheriff

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Fayette County Commission is looking to fill the position of Interim Sheriff following the resignation of Sheriff Mike Fridley.

Qualified applicants are encouraged to submit their resumes by 12 PM on August 6, 2024.

Resumes should highlight relevant knowledge and experience in line with the duties outlined in the West Virginia State Code.

Applications can be sent via email to fcc@fayettecountywv.gov or delivered in person to the County Administrator’s Office at 100 N Court Street, Fayetteville, WV.

Candidates must be residents of Fayette County and registered as Independent voters.

The selected individual will begin their term on August 7, 2024, serving until December 31, 2024.

Preference will be given to applicants who can ensure a smooth transition within the Sheriff’s Department until the newly-elected Sheriff assumes office on January 1, 2025.
