Six Fayetteville-area high school boys soccer teams will kick off their seasons next month at the Battle for the Bell tournament, sponsored by Terry Sanford.
Terry Sanford, Jack Britt, Cape Fear, Village Christian, Pine Forest and South View will all compete for the Miller's Crew Bell in the annual event where the area's top programs come together to support Miller's Crew every August.

The Haymount Victory Bell was built and donated by Karoly Molnar on Oct. 9, 1995, originally held by the winner of the annual Terry Sanford-Fayetteville Academy game until the rivalry ended in 1998, and pulled out of storage for the inaugural tournament in 2017.
The tournament is scheduled for Aug. 12-17, hosted at Jack Britt and Terry Sanford for the first four days of matches, while consolation games will be hosted at Fayetteville Soccer Complex on Saturday, Aug. 17. The championship games is set for Methodist University.

- Game 2: Pine Forest vs. Pinecrest - 8 p.m.
Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Terry Sanford
- Game 3: South View vs. Southern Lee - 6 p.m.
- Game 4: Terry Sanford vs. Cape Fear - 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Jack Britt
- Game 5: Game 1 loser vs. Game 2 loser - 6 p.m.
- Game 6: Game 1 winner vs. Game 2 winner - 8 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 15 at Terry Sanford
- Game 7: Game 3 loser vs. Game 4 loser - 6 p.m.
- Game 8: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner - 8 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 17 at Fayetteville Soccer Complex
- Game 9 (7th place game): Game 5 loser vs. Game 7 loser - 4 p.m.
- Game 10 (5th place game): Game 5 winner vs. Game 7 winner - 4 p.m.
- Game 11 (3rd place game): Game 6 loser vs. Game 8 loser - 4 p.m.
