Amazon's new inbound cross-dock facility is operational after multiple delays since its original project 2023 timeline.

Greg Rios, an Amazon spokesperson, said in an email Wednesday that the 1.3 million-square-foot facility at 6309 Bragg Blvd. in Military Business Park has been operational since late June.

The facility in Fayetteville began hiring last month in preparation for its opening date and continues to hire as not all 1,000 positions have been filled, Rios told the Observer in June.

"We’re continuing to hire, and new job postings for the Fayetteville location are released every Friday evening, sometime after 7 p.m.," Rios said.

The facility receives inventory primarily from small- and medium-sized selling partners. Rios said items are sorted and transported to Amazon cross-docks for consolidation. From there, the goods are routed to nearby fulfillment centers, which fulfill customer orders.

    How to apply

Rios said that as shifts and positions are filled throughout the week, the online job portal may not always show available openings and encourages job seekers to check amazon.com/flexiblejobs frequently. He said the positions would be posted throughout the evening and into Saturday morning.

He said job candidates can sign up for alerts for new positions by texting "HIREME" to 31432.
