TOWNSHIP OF BYRON – A silo fire Monday morning in township of Byron resulted in the destruction and loss of $20,000 worth of feed.

Oakfield Fire Department and First Responders along with Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call reporting the fire at 6:33 a.m. from the owner of the property at W6216 Lost Arrow Road.

When crews and deputies arrived, only smoke was visible from the silo, the sheriff’s office said in a release.

Fire crews were able to limit the fire to the silo.

The 70-foot silo was filled with approximately $20,000 worth of feed, which was all destroyed.

No other damage was sustained to any of the surrounding structures and the sheriff’s office said the fire is not considered suspicious.
