FOND DU LAC – Commuters will be faced with lane closures along Interstate 41 for the next year to facilitate a 12-month road works project from County D in Fond du Lac to State 26 in Winnebago County.

Construction on the $25.9 million project starts Oct. 21 and is scheduled to end in October 2025.

I-41 will remain open with lane closures occurring during off-peak and nighttime hours.

The project aims to improve the 14.2 miles of I-41 between County D and State 26 through paving and structure maintenance on 10 bridges across that stretch.

The improvements will also see the construction of a new box culvert, nine box culvert extensions, culvert pipe work, slope grading, restoration, beam guard replacement, cable guard replacement, shouldering and pavement marking.

A detailed listing of project scope, schedule, traffic impacts, exhibits and displays are available on the project 511 construction website, https://projects.511wi.gov/i41fdloutrehab/ .
