    Vote for the Oshkosh Northwestern/Fond du Lac Reporter Athlete of the Week: Sept. 30-Oct. 5

    Congratulations to Campbellsport cross country runner Garrett Pickering on being voted the Fond du Lac Reporter/Oshkosh Northwestern High School Athlete of the Week in our last poll for the week of September 9-14!

    Pickering received 600 out of 1,669 total votes cast (35.95%) to claim the honor after he placed first at the Winnebago Lutheran Academy Viking Invitational with a time of 18:30.8, leading the Cougars to a sweep of the top five finishers overall.

    Here are the candidates for the week of 9/30-10/5:

    Fond du Lac Reporter/Oshkosh Northwestern Athlete of the Week, 9/16-9/28

    ADDI McCAULEY/EVA ENGEL/TIERNEY MADIGAN/MARISKA KEES, Laconia girls volleyball: McCauley (50 kills, 74 digs, 21 aces), Engel (50 kills, 72 digs), Madigan (48 kills, eight aces, six blocks), and Kees (200 assists, 17 aces, 39 digs) were absolutely dominant in an undefeated 7-0 week for the No. 8-ranked Spartans, who moved in the Top 10 rankings for the first time this season after being listed as honorable mention the previous two weeks.

    ANNA E. GIANNOPOULOS/LIZZIE FINK/MAHLIA DEMLER, Valley Christian girls volleyball: Giannopoulos (42 kills, eight aces, 41 digs), Fink (28 kills), and Demler (91 assists, three aces, 20 digs) were sharp leading the Warriors in their 1-1 week, defeating Lourdes Academy in a dramatic 3-2 win on Tuesday while dropping a 3-2 nailbiter to Central Wisconsin Christian on Thursday.

    ALDO CEBALLOS, North Fond du Lac/Oakfield/St. Mary's Springs boys soccer: Ceballos scored one of United's goals in their 4-1 victory over Central Wisconsin Christian on Tuesday, then followed up with a hat trick and two assists in the team's 7-1 triumph over Omro on Thursday.

    SAMARA ZEINERT/KIERSTEN DIETSCHWEILER, Oshkosh West girls swimming & diving: Zeinert (50 Yard Free - 24.13, 100 Yard Back - 58.36) and Dietschweiler (100 Yard Fly - 1:00.70, 500 Yard Free - 5:08.84) each won both of their individual events while also taking first place as part of the 200 Yard Medley Relay (2:01.52) and 400 Yard Free Relay (3:47.93) teams in a 122-61 victory over Appleton East on Tuesday.
