New Civics Education course at Bucks County Community College
Bucks County Community College announced the launch of a new noncredit program, “Civics Education: So, You Think You Know Your Government?” This 8-week course offers participants a unique opportunity to learn about the U.S. Constitution, the court system, immigration, criminal and civil cases, and various other aspects of government that every informed citizen should be familiar with.

Bensalem Police have identified the suspect who allegedly stole electrical items from the Home Depot stores on Rockhill Drive and Bristol Pike as Noe Zapata, 25, of Brooklyn, New York. The total value of items stolen is in excess of $8,800. District Justice Joseph Falcone issued an arrest warrant for Zapata for felony retail theft. Police are asking for the public’s help in finding him. He is known to travel with other unknown males in a white Mazda CX7 SUV during the thefts. NOVA receives community support
NOVA, Bucks County’s comprehensive crime victim service agency, received over 100 holiday gifts and items for families in need, courtesy of the patrons and staff of Giuseppe’s Pizza of Warminster. Every year, Giuseppe’s has a Giving Tree in the restaurant, whereby patrons and staff take a gift tag from the tree, purchase an item and drop it off at the restaurant. For the 2023 holiday season, NOVA was one of two charitable organizations that the restaurant chose for this program.
African American Museum set to occupy permanent home in 2025
By this time next year, the African American Museum of Bucks County is expected to be settled into its first-ever permanent home. Following a decade of operating in mobile fashion, driving to schools, libraries and other public spots across the county to display artifacts and other educational items that honor the legacy of the African American experience in Bucks and beyond, the AAMBC is closer than ever to setting up shop at Boone Farm, located on Langhorne-Newtown Road (Route 413) near St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne.
Twenty-two couples celebrate love in annual Vows and Valentines
Love was in the air last Wednesday afternoon, when 22 couples participated in the annual Vows and Valentines wedding and vow-renewal ceremonies. Organized by the Bucks County Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans’ Court, four ceremonies officiated by Judge Brian T. McGuffin, Cantor Neil Schnitzer and Mouza Gornostaeva took place from noon to 2 p.m. in Doylestown.
