Denver Nuggets close Summer League with consecutive wins thanks to Trey Alexander's late takeover
It took some clutch offense from Trey Alexander for the Nuggets to avoid a collapse in their Summer League finale, a 91-82 win over the Pelicans on Saturday in Las Vegas. Denver saw an early 23-point lead dissolve in the final minutes. Then, Alexander scored or assisted 10 of Denver’s final 16 points. The rookie finished with 19 points, making 8 of his 10 shots from the field and all three of his 3-pointers. He added seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and a block in 29 minutes. The former Creighton standout averaged more than 17 points, five rebounds and two assists over five Summer League games.

Coalition to award free tickets to crane-viewing events for 13th annual festival
The Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition will be awarding free tickets to morning guided crane-viewing events during the 13th annual Yampa Valley Crane Festival. Coined the Never Ever Crane-Viewing Giveaway, three young adults will be chosen to receive two tickets each to one crane viewing event on Aug. 30, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.

A pretty good looking Monday ahead for us. We will see temps a bit below normal and only a slight chance for thunderstorms but with some smoke above. Sunny skies will be the rule for most of the day. It will, however, be hazy as smoke from wildfires in Canada and Pacific Northwest arrive. This afternoon we have just the slightest chance for a thunderstorm. Highs will top out in the mid-80s.
