Police ID Felton man killed in high-speed motorcycle crash near Frederica

A 36-year-old motorcyclist killed Saturday in a crash north of Frederica has been identified by Delaware State Police as Jerome Crump.

The crash occurred about 2:40 p.m. Saturday as Crump, of the Felton area, was driving a Kawasaki ZR1 motorcycle southbound on Bay Road, police said.

As he approached Frederica Road at a high speed, police said Crump entered the off ramp and lost control. He was then thrown from the motorcycle.

Crump was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses are being asked to contact investigators at (302) 698-8451. Information may also be provided by sending a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) 847-3333.
