FENNIMORE, Wis. -- A Fennimore man suffered serious injuries after a rollover crash Saturday morning.

Grant County Sheriff's Office said a 49-year-old man was traveling west on Highway 18 about 1/4 mile east of Brown School Road, driving a 2007 Saturn Vue.

Police said the man's vehicle left the road to the north side of the highway, drove along the shoulder for a distance before crossing back on the road crossing the centerline and eventually the fog line on the south side of the road.

The vehicle then left struck a culvert, at a field entrance on the south side of the highway, crossing the driveway and striking an embankment.

Police said the vehicle then continued back towards the highway, finally coming to rest almost parallel to the highway, just past the fog line on the south side of the road.

The man was ejected from the vehicle and he reportedly landed about 20 feet from where the car came to stop.

Police said the man suffered apparent injuries to his lower extremities and he was transported to the Grant Regional Health Center for treatment of his injuries. He was later transported by medical hospital for advanced care at a larger hospital.

Grant County Sheriff's Office said the man had allegedly been drinking alcohol and a legal blood draw was conducted after a search warrant was obtained.

The crash is still under investigation.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Fennimore Fire Department, Fennimore EMS, the Fennimore Police Department and Doan's Towing of Fennimore.
