<body><div><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=0Y5Kh1_0v0fyL0X00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0Y5Kh1_0v0fyL0X00" width="1920" height="1280" >Fergus Falls, MN – On Wednesday (August 14th), a victim contacted the Fergus Falls Police Department to report a scam.According to court records, the victim was having issues with her computer on Tuesday and had contacted Microsoft.After her call with Microsoft ended, she received another call claiming that they were from Microsoft and needed virtual access to her computer, then told the victim that she owed them $44,000.The victim believed the scammers had gotten into her banking information.She was told to withdraw $20,000 from her bank account and to tell the bank it was for home improvements.One of the scammers, a currently unidentified male, went to the victim’s home and picked up the cash.The next day, the scammers again called requesting another $20,000.This time, a female, now identified as 22-year-old Nadia Islam of Miramar, Florida, arrived at the residence to collect the money and was arrested.Islam later described to police how another scammer had provided her the information on where to go pick up the money.Despite initially denying information, she eventually admitted knowing that the money came from when the scammers hacked into email accounts and got bank information.Islam is currently in the Otter Tail County Detention Facility facing a felony charge of Conspiracy Theft by Swindle.Her first court appearance was earlier today (August 16th).</div></body>
