Kismet Coffee Opening in Fernandina Beach Next Month

Kismet Coffee , a new cozy and relaxing coffee experience, is getting ready to debut in Fernandina Beach , located at 5517 S Fletcher Ave.

The company is set to move into the former home of Parkway Grille, which closed last year after many years of serving the community. Kismet Coffee will sit adjacent to a Harris Teeter-anchored shopping center and Amelia Baptist Church. Co-owner Ashley Herrera tells What Now Jacksonville that they are hoping to open on June 24th and are just waiting on state/city permits and licenses. The new business is excited to serve the south side of Amelia Island, where not many local cafes exist.

This will be an excellent location for Kismet Coffee, sitting at the corner of South Fletcher Avenue and Highway A1A. In addition to having plenty of traffic coming through the area, it will garner plenty of foot traffic from the Shops at Amelia Market. The new coffee shop will also be an excellent option for anyone heading to The Golf Club of Amelia Island. While Kismet Coffee will have to compete with Starbucks down the street, the company hopes to be a locally focused option, sourcing many of its ingredients from other local businesses.

“We are excited to be offering quality coffee, teas, pastries, toasts, smoothies, and even some ice cream,” Herrera tells What Now Jacksonville. “We try to partner with other local businesses as much as possible! For example, our coffee will be locally roasted, most of our pastries will be from 1748 Bakehouse on the north side of Jax, and our ice cream is from a Florida creamery based out of Sarasota (Yoder’s). We will have a small, local retail section as well, showcasing a few vendors from our artisan farmers market. Specifically handmade ceramic mugs, candles, and some artwork! Staying as local as we can is very important to us (the owners) since we are local ourselves!”
