Green River baseball falls in home opener to Valley
After dropping the opening game to Bryce Valley, The Green River Pirates welcomed the Valley Buffalos to town for their home opener on Wednesday. The Pirates couldn’t find an answer for Valley’s junior on the mound Hogan Harris as he threw five shutout innings handing Green River its second loss, 11-0. Valley put two runs on the board in the first and held the Pirates hitless in the bottom of the inning. In the second with the score 3-0, Cristian Mendoza came to the plate sending a single down the line and into left field. The next batter, Rolando Anguiano stepped to the plate and grounded into a double play to end the inning.
