The Puerto Rican Festival in Aurora, hosted by Nieves Ministries, was a tremendous success. Held on June 22, 2024, at Lowry Community Park, this lively event featured a variety of vendors, including Bake It With Sass, Bri’s Jam N Hits, Lunar Visuals, Cultural Gifts, Reppin My Culture, Coqui Colada, La Barinquena, La Juicy Lemons, Denver Competitive Ink, Danny Burger, and many more.

Nieves Ministries ensured a safe environment by providing security through their Mile High Safety ministry. The festival was filled with delicious food, a vibrant crowd, and engaging entertainment. Notably, Mayor Mike Coffman of Aurora attended the festival, adding to the event's significance. Attendees expressed their enthusiasm on Facebook, eagerly anticipating next year's event.

In a show of community solidarity, people attending Pride Fest took the initiative to show their love and support for this first annual festival before heading to the Pride Parade in Denver. Nieves Ministries, in partnership with United Airlines, handed out care packages and engaged the community in efforts to help the homeless population. Additionally, with their partnership with Meow Wolf Denver, they held a $2 raffle for two tickets to Meow Wolf. Thanks to donations from Elite Certificates, they also conducted raffles for trips to Panama and Antigua resorts.

As the newest and hottest Puerto Rican festival in the Colorado Aurora Denver metro area, it is quickly becoming a city favorite, especially since A Taste of Puerto Rico Denver is not happening. The festival's success is a testament to the hard work of Nieves Ministries board members Alexander Nieves, Jeremiah Banks, and Vanessa Campbell, Alexander's wife. We can't wait to see what Nieves Ministries has in store for next year's event!
