During his absence, Solo Sikoa transitioned from being Reigns’ enforcer to being the new Tribal Chief, with the intention of making Sikoa the major faction leader before facing Reigns. After telling Paul Heyman Reigns that he was never coming back, Sikoa laid out Heyman after Heyman refused to acknowledge him as his Tribal Chief on June 28th, 2024, at Madison Square Garden.

— Pat McAfee posted to social media today indicating that tonight will be the last WWE Raw that he calls as color commentator for a while. While not specifying exactly how long he will be gone, McAfee conceded that with the football (college, NFL) season ready to kick off, he would be occupied with his commitments there. WWE has seemingly prepared for his absence by hiring former ESPN broadcaster Joe Tessitore, who will join Raw starting September 2, moving Michael Cole to Smackdown. Cole is then scheduled to return to Raw next year when Raw premieres on Netflix and Tessitore will head to Smackdown. It’s not yet clear who will be calling Raw next Monday on August 26.

Pat McAfee is a beloved figure on WWE television, and his genuine passion for the business is evident to everyone who watches the project. However, the former NFL punter has now confirmed on his Instagram Stories that this week’s episode of Raw will be his last one on commentary “for a while.” This is because, as was previously announced, he is returning to College Game Day, which is one of ESPN’s most popular shows. 37-year-old McAfee has been involved with WWE since 2018 when he initially started out as a pre-show analyst for NXT’s TakeOver shows. Since then, he has become a color commentator on both Raw and SmackDown and an in-ring performer, with his biggest match to date being a defeat to Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 38.

Fans will now have the opportunity to buy a Spartans-themed wrestling championship belt. Chris Vannini of The Athletic reported on Friday that WWE is now selling championship belts for a select few colleges, including Michigan State. Other teams from the Big Ten to offer championship belts includes Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State and Penn State.
