Amish Buggy and Vehicle Crash North of Canton
According to Fillmore County Sheriff John DeGeorge, Fillmore County Dispatch received a 911 call of a vehicle vs Amish buggy crash at approximately 3:59 p.m. on June 20. The crash occurred on County Road 21 at the intersection with 130th Street. The buggy was occupied by four people; the driver of the pickup was the lone occupant.

Charlotte Colleen (McMahon) Ryan
Charlotte Colleen (McMahon) Ryan, 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus, surrounded by her loving family. Charlotte was born on July 26, 1946, to James and Elizabeth McMahon. She grew up on the family farm in Chatfield, Minn., with many siblings and animals to keep her busy. Her love for animals led to her becoming the president and secretary of the 4-H Root River Rabbits, where she was proudly announced as Outstanding Fillmore County 4-Her of the Year. In that same year (1964), she graduated from Chosen Valley High School in Chatfield, Minn.

Rural Lanesboro House Fire
Fillmore County Dispatch received a 911 call of a house fire at 35315 Flag road in rural Lanesboro at approximately 6:21 am yesterday morning. The Lanesboro Fire Department and Lanesboro Ambulance responded. A Fillmore County Deputy also responded and upon arrival observed the house to be a total loss. Fillmore County Deputies determined that there were two adults home at the time of the fire, both adults made it out of the house with minor injuries. Initial reports indicate that there were 6 dogs in the house, and only one was able to make it out of the home.
