The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host a public meeting later this month for the Highway 61 project through Two Harbors.

The meeting, scheduled for 5 p.m. May 21 at the public library in Two Harbors, will include a brief presentation about the $17 million project and display boards showing design concepts with “possible colors, textures, lighting, greenery, signage and more” for the corridor, according to MnDOT.

“Members of a visual quality committee have been brainstorming ideas and narrowing them down to create a vision for the Hwy 61 corridor. This meeting will give the public an opportunity to view the committee’s progress and to share feedback on ideas presented,” the department said in a press release.

The project is scheduled for construction in 2027 and 2028.
