    1. Arkansas

Lucky residents of the Natural State are soon getting a Jack in the Box. The first Arkansas store is breaking ground in Rogers, in the Northwestern corner of the state.

This is savory news for the roughly 246,000 hungry diners who live in the Rogers-Bentonville-Springdale area.

    2. Florida

Florida is known for sandy beaches, Disney World, and being home to popular food chains like Burger King, PDQ, and Firehouse Subs. Undaunted, Jack in the Box will soon enter the hungry fray. Jack in the Box has said it will soon be in the Sunshine State.

It has not committed to specific locations but stated it will open 10 units in the Orlando market and five units in Tallahassee. This will be the restauranteur’s re-entry into the Florida market after an absence of more than 30 years.

The restaurant’s franchise development team has also expressed interest in expanding to other metro areas throughout the state, including:

    • Jacksonville
    • Miami
    • Tampa
    • Petersburg
    • Hialeah
    • Port St. Lucie
    • Cape Coral
    • Fort Lauderdale
    • Coral Springs
    • Palm Bay
    • West Palm Beach
    • Clearwater
    • Miami Gardens
    • Boca Raton
    • Fort Myers

    3. Georgia

Jack in the Box has also announced plans to open 15 new locations in Georgia. This will be the first time the franchise is open in the state and is a good indicator that they will continue to expand into the Southeast.

While no specific locations have been solidified, Jack in the Box will focus on Macon, Augusta, and Savannah.

    4. Illinois

For the first time in four decades, Jack in the Box is making a highly anticipated return to Chicago. The company will be opening eight locations in the Chicagoland area.

The fast food chain originally operated in the area in the 1960s and 1970s but closed the locations in the early 1980s, leaving customers without any beloved hamburgers to munch on.

The first locations will open in 2025 and 2026 in Chicago, Countryside, Tinley Park, New Lenox, Plainfield, Naperville, Carol Stream, and Lake in the Hills.

    5. Montana

Big Sky Country will soon be welcoming the San Diego-based hamburger chain. Jack in the Box and several news sources have stated that the restaurant intends to expand into the Montana market; however, no specific location has been identified.

We’d expect to see the first store opening in Billings, Missoula, Great Falls, or Bozeman based on population. Wherever Jack in the Box goes, it will shake things up for Five Guys, Best Burger, and other favorite fast food chains.

    6. Wyoming

Jack in the Box is coming soon to the Cowboy State. While a specific location has not been announced, Wyoming residents can look forward to the restaurant’s ooey-gooey, cheesy tacos and Sriracha curly fry burgers.

The restaurant is likely to open in one of the state’s more populous cities, such as Cheyenne, Casper, or Gillette. And while Jack in the Box is coming, don’t worry. None of your favorite standbys are disappearing. You’ll still be able to pick up a frozen custard at Freddy’s.

Can Jack in the Box sustain this growth?

Growing into new markets is not without risk, but Jack in the Box is feeling confident. The 100+ new-restaurant expansion comes at the heels of record-breaking financial results in 2023.

The restaurant’s recent expansion into Kentucky and Utah has proven extremely successful. In Salt Lake City alone, Jack in the Box exceeded its previous new-market revenue mark by 66%.

Tim Linderman, chief development officer, says that excitement for the brand has “continued to exceed our expectations.” Linderman credits this success to its “strong playbook” of best practices for new market entry, including partnerships with iconic brands and targeting whitespace territory.

Of course, not every new store is a home run. Jack in the Box closed 15 stores in the fiscal year 2023. But with 20 new openings, the store opened more locations than it closed and saw its first year of net unit growth since 2019.

    Further expansion

In addition to Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Montana, and Wyoming, Jack in the Box intends to expand into Michigan near Kalamazoo, Calhoun, and Kent. The restaurant has also entered an agreement to open 22 stores in Mexico.

Even if a Jack in the Box isn’t coming to your state soon (ahem! Minnesota!), you can grab a burger and milkshake on spring break in Mexico or when catching a game at Western Michigan.

    Bottom line

With Jack in the Box's bold growth into Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Montana, Wyoming, and beyond, fast-food landscapes everywhere are about to get tastier.

And if burgers aren’t your thing, no worries. Jack in the Box owns Del Taco too, and the taco chain is set to open 138 new locations. Just make sure to use one of the best cash back credit cards to save more during your visit.

Money tips that can work for everyone

No matter what your bank account balance is, there's always an opportunity to optimize and improve your finances. Here's a quick checklist of things you can look at today.

Focus on paying off your debt . Debt can hold you back from making progress with your overall financial well-being. Aside from cutting expenses, there are tools that can help you pay off debt faster like balance transfer credit cards and debt counseling.

Earning extra income can give you breathing room. If finances are tight, earning some extra money to supplement your income can make a huge difference. A new job is one option to consider, but if you're not ready to make a big change or already retired, a part-time side job could be a better choice.

Cut your expenses. It sounds painful and so not fun, but it doesn't have to be. Take a look at your biggest expenses because that's where you'll probably find the biggest savings. For example, auto insurance rates have been soaring so shopping around for a new insurance company can be the fastest way to cut your bill. Also, look for ways to cut your grocery bill (despite rising inflation).
