Sports bars are hubs for meeting friends after work or just relaxing away from the stress of the day. Most seem the same, with an upbeat atmosphere and wings (you have to get the wings).

Not all of them are the same, though. Some have done an excellent job of building a following because they’re unique, super cool, or have become an important spot for locals.

If you’re traveling or looking for good friends, laughs, and an excuse to go out to eat more in your hometown, these are the coolest sports bars in every state.

Don't miss: 8 clever ways to save money so you can still afford to eat out

    1. Alabama: Paramount (Birmingham)

For over 10 years, Paramount has been the place to blow off steam.

From the arcade with 20 classic and modern games to the super cool vibe with shop lights and butcher block bar, Paramount is an excellent choice for those looking for a grown-up version of a day out.

Check out the super interesting mural and the car rims that line one of the walls. It’s a true car shop feel from back in the day.

Money tips that can work for everyone

No matter what your bank account balance is, there's always an opportunity to optimize and improve your finances. Here's a quick checklist of things you can look at today.

Focus on paying off your debt . Debt can hold you back from making progress with your overall financial well-being. Aside from cutting expenses, there are tools that can help you pay off debt faster like balance transfer credit cards and debt counseling.

Earning extra income can give you breathing room. If finances are tight, earning some extra money to supplement your income can make a huge difference. A new job is one option to consider, but if you're not ready to make a big change or already retired, a part-time side job could be a better choice.

Cut your expenses. It sounds painful and so not fun, but it doesn't have to be. Take a look at your biggest expenses because that's where you'll probably find the biggest savings. For example, auto insurance rates have been soaring so shopping around for a new insurance company can be the fastest way to cut your bill. Also, look for ways to cut your grocery bill (despite rising inflation).
