Public screening of documentary 'Activismo: Art and Dissidence in Cuba' to be held Aug. 14
The Findlay and Northwest Ohio public is invited to attend a special screening of the 45-minute, award-winning documentary, "Activismo: Art and Dissidence in Cuba," on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Alexandria' 's, 132 E. Crawford St., in Findlay. Organized by co-directors/producers Philip Sugden and Carole Elchert, the film features Cuban artists who use art as a form of activism and civic engagement for social change in Cuba.
Maryland Opera announces 2024-25 season, featuring works of Puccini and Bizet
Maryland Opera has announced its 2024-2025 season, which will open on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Redeemer on Charles Street in North Baltimore. The opening performance will be “Morte e Vita,” fully staged and costumed, featuring the final acts from Puccini’s “La Bohème,” “Madama Butterfly,” and “Manon Lescaut.”
